I was trying to upload some photos to my computer, but I am having technical difficulties. I've been here in Kuwait for almost 5 days now. It is so weird here. It's flat, and hot, and nothing but sand as far as the eye can see. We went out to the range again to shoot, and on the way back I saw tanks, and camels--will post pics later. One of our docs brought a golf club and balls and he was practicing in the sand today. We are bored, and anxious to get to our destinations. But they really have a lot to offer: stores, a theater, gym, Starbucks, KFC, and the other day the girls and I went to the spa and got our eyebrows waxed and had manicures. We had to do rollover training where they put us in a humvee, and then roll us a few times, and we have to get out upside down. It was fun--like a roller coaster. We are here with the Royal Army and Air Force from Britian. They are very interesting to talk with. It's nice to have such commraderie with them. Hope to be out of here and on our way in the next 24h. I will be in touch. Thank you for writing, I love to hear from you all, and to know that someone is actually reading my ramblings........
love, ali

Eyebrow waxing and manicures? Whew, and I was worried. Lisa and I just got back from New Orleans. We were there all last week, fun place. I kept thinking about you and what you were doing and where you were at. This blog is great. Hope to see more posts when you get the opportunities.
Manicures and waxing....must be today's new Army....I thought only the Air Force did those kind of things. :) Rollover exercise sounds fun. Take care.

I have been so worried about you--but, from now on I will be looking for a place to get my eyebrows waxed. I thought having a pedicure was extreme-!! I have a lot to learn!!! Love You oxoxoxoMom
I hope you are not too hot. It's cold here.
Enjoy the difference and get all the experience you can.
love you,
Andrea
Hey my sweets,
Well I think I have heard everything now, dont know how your ped and mani will last but what the heck....throwing grenades sounds more like it. Please stay safe and make sure all our wonderful brave troops know they are in our deepest thoughts and prayers for their safe return. We support you all.

Alison- I am so glad to hear that you are doing good. We have been thinking about you and praying for you everyday. Dillon and Ike are doing great. We made Native American symbol stories at the last meeting and tomorrow we are going to the state patrol for a tour. They are the best little boys ever! Keep up your spirit and the good work!
