Brian's birthday
Today is Brian's birthday--happy birthday, honey. I feel bad I am not there, but he isn't coming here for my birthday, either--so I guess we are even. I miss him, and my cute boys like crazy! I keep getting packages of great comfort items from friends and loved ones--thank you all. We all get so much stuff sent to us, that we are trying to donate what we don't need for the chaplains to give out to soldiers in the field. And Tracie was right--it is really easy to gain weight here, with all the cookies and brownies we get sent to us. The OR break room is literally filled with snacks. Yummy, but dangerous. I will try to post some more pictures soon. We had a detainee in the OR, with two armed guards, and he had to be blindfolded until he was asleep--weird, huh? Thanks for writing, so I know someone is reading..........

Better keep walking back and forth to burn up those calories! Corliss
Good to see another posting! I was wondering when one would arrive. I hope you know that for every comment you read there are probably a hundred people who read and enjoy each one. I think it's a little scary to "put it out there" for the world to see, but I so enjoy reading the postings, and I'm sure you do to. I have been in touch with the boys about Brian's birthday present. They were all set and had made cards, and Keith arranged to take them shopping so I hope all went well. You know how hard it is for Dillon to keep a secret!! I will talk to the boys tonight and see how the "surprise" went. I mailed you a new pillow. It is in one of those vacumm bags-so stand back when you open it!! Love you much, miss you more. oxoxox MOM
I am happy to see another posting as well. I love reading about what is going on with you. The boys are on their way over for Brian's birthday dinner and cake. I even have candles in for him to blow out. Keith took Dillon out to get Brian a present last week and I wrapped it for him yesterday.
We love you much and keep the postings coming. EJK
Funny story:
Your boys walked through the door and Ike came right up to my mom and I and told us about the jelly beans that he had bought his dad for his birthday but that he had forgotten them at your house. Well Brian walks in the door and mom immediately said "I hear you got some jelly beans for your birthday!". Well Ike's little face was shocked...he hadn't given Brian the jelly beans yet. Mom felt SO bad, but Brian did a good job playing it off. Good thing Dillon didn't tell her what he got for Brian! You know how hard it is for my mom to keep a secret! EJK
Hello babe,
Thank you for the update on my favorite soldier. I had a great birthday. Thanks for the call tonight it really meant alot to me. It really must be a different job working on blindfolded patients. You truely are the best!! All of your patients are blessed to be in you care. Have fun at dance class tonight.
Love you BABY!!
Brian
I am glad to see a little more personal things in the blog. For the ones who read this I am so happy to let you all know how hard it is to keep a birthday secret with those boys. I cannot tell you how many phone calls it took, with Dillon whispering into the phone to pull off the "present"! And to Keith and Erika- you two are the best. I still don't know what all the secret stuff was about--what did Brian get?? oxoxox Mom
Dear Red,
After all the secrets and chaos...I don't even remember!
Erika and Fam!
