Happy New Year

Hello, and happy new year. All is well here. Just counting down the days. Not much longer here, and it is really surprising how quickly it has gone. We had four OR cases today, and things have been busier--still extremely slow compared to normal life, but busier than we have been. I have been reading a lot, sitting in the sunshine in the afternoons, although it is a lot colder than it was a month ago. We watch a lot of movies together, and still go to the gym and dance lessons. The pool is not heated, so I haven't dared swim, although they offer water aerobics several times a week. We went to the flight line last week and had a tour of the Cobra and Huey helicopters. We all got to climb into the Cobra and take pictures. We tried our best to party on New Years Eve, with our fake beer and real cuban cigars. Kind of ironic, since if we were home we would have real beer and fake cigars. My family is back from Mexico, which is a relief, as I was worried about them. ( More irony: I am in the war zone feeling perfectly safe, yet I worry about my family traveling to Mexico for Christmas. )
Well, I will keep writing, if you all keep reading. Hope you all had nice holidays. Write to me when you can. love, ali

You bet we are all still reading! I suppose I could be a good friend and write you back! I can't wait to see all the pictures you have been able to take and hear some more stories. We will all have to hit the town with some real beers and you can teach us how to dance. OOOOHHHHH that is a bad image I just painted - me dancing!
See ya soon.

Hi Ali,
Thanks for the blog...really like all the pictures. No news here just lots of snow in the mountains and rain/snow on the way. All is the same at SHMC except Chris has hired a couple of locums to help out for a while. Missing you! Keep your pecker up as the English would say.
Love, Jackie

Hi Pokadot! I haven't written on the blog much because I have seen you on skypes as well as talked to you on the phone. But I love reading the blog, and seeing who writes. It was a very different Christmas and New Years for all of us. I hope the boys had fun--it was a lot of driving and a very cramped Motor Home with six people and a dog. Sleeping was prettty funny-bodies everywhere. But the boys loved the fresh, warm tortillos straight from the vendor and they all seemed to like the fish tacos. Brian is an amazingly good driver of the beast, and made the long road as short as he could--I really love him for all his hard work. I think the boys were very glad to go home-back to some stability. love and kisses oxoxo MOM

Hey Ali, I love reading your Blog and the pictures are great!. We are having one heck of a snowstorm here today. John and used the snowblower twice and it is only 1PM. We actually stayed up for New Years this year. Morgan went to bed, but Rhiannon got to see the fireworks across town. Hope your time goes by fast.

Love, Amy
